Ishmael and his friends were "trained" (for one day) in becoming child soldiers. Name some ways in this chapter that Ishmael has been forced to grow up.

  1. The military give guns to everyone, dress as a solider, to teach them who their rival, & going to battle.

  2. Ishmael and his friends were "trained" in becoming child soldiers. That's forcing to grow up, because at that age they shouldn't be doing forcing to become a soldier, but as I said in the chapter before is to identify what you want to do during a war.

  3. I don't think he really had to grow up in any of the pass chapters. I just think that he had to make grown up decision.

  4. Ishmael one started to get trained to go kill, that's the obvious but this young started to take drugs and get addicted to them. One intense moment is when they killed rebels as a game, but the thing that got to me was when he looked into the eyes of the rebel as he died and in the description, it was so good that i don't think he blinked

  18. He was forced to grow up because he was forced to kill people, see so much death, and take drugs. A kid shouldn't have to go through any of that.

  19. Ishmeal had was forced on being a soldier and killing the rebels, taking the drugs that made them want to kill the rebel the most, and seeing his friends are dieing. The drugs made them want to kill the rebels and they were thinking of them as the person who killed their parents.

One way Ishmael has been forced to grow up, is by actually seeing the painful sights of the locals of Sierre Leone murdered and killed. In some way, that made him grow up and mature. He's gone from never even thinking of death, to seeing it right in front of his eyes.
That's officially apart of his life, and he has to deal with it.

Ishmael has been forced to grow up by taking drugs and because no one has take in care of him at all and for no reason; only to fight and serve protection to those who are cooking.
