Ishmael and his friends were "trained" in becoming child soldiers. That's forcing to grow up, because at that age they shouldn't be doing forcing to become a soldier, but as I said in the chapter before is to identify what you want to do during a war.
Ishmael one started to get trained to go kill, that's the obvious but this young started to take drugs and get addicted to them. One intense moment is when they killed rebels as a game, but the thing that got to me was when he looked into the eyes of the rebel as he died and in the description, it was so good that i don't think he blinked
he had to face his nightmares and learn to take the death of his friends with a grain salt and keep on fighting. he was not able to grieve or think of things like the faces on the moon because he was so hoped up on drugs.
Ishmaels has been force to grow up in a way that he doesn't play soccer anymore ( it was his last doing as a kid) he smoke marijuana and watch fighting films,
some ways that Ishmael was forced to grow up are the fact that he was given a gun and told to kill at such a young age. He was even all hyped up on illicit drugs while still being a child.

One way Ishmael has been forced to grow up, is by actually seeing the painful sights of the locals of Sierre Leone murdered and killed. In some way, that made him grow up and mature. He's gone from never even thinking of death, to seeing it right in front of his eyes. That's officially apart of his life, and he has to deal with it.
ishmael was forced to grow up to fast, with out no choice, they gave him guns, and made him take drugs something a young kid shouldnt take at that age or ever for that matter and its heart breaking to see different types of sights to killing and violence
Ishmael was force to grow up because he was a boy soldier that was force to the front lines of war and was force to kill. they also train him to use a gun.
Ishmael had to learn how to use a gun and knfe, how to cope with the feeling of guilt beacause you killed someone, and how to be mature in these times of war.
Ishmael has been forced to grow up by taking drugs and because no one has take in care of him at all and for no reason; only to fight and serve protection to those who are cooking.
