Chapter 2: Dreams and Nightmares

Ishmael dreams of pushing a wheel barrel with a dead body inside it. At the end of the dream he realizes that the dead body is him. What is the symbolism of this dream?

    I think the symbolism of his dreams means that he is going to die and someone will push him in a wheel barriel or that is reminding him of what his doing.

    I think he realizes its him because of the painful memories he had. its really hurtful when bad dreams dont go away and it feels like its true and the pain that carries inside you.

    Maybe he felt it was a sign as to what is going to happen in the future. Maybe he feels in order to stop this dream from becoming reality, he needs to push through and get over this plateu. He isn't used to this kind of lifestyle that he's in, and that's coming for him.
